Having checked out almost all of the exciting clothing and hardware from ISPO 2015, this week we're taking a look at all of the latest innovations in software. We're kicking off with a look at the Petzl 'Sitta' harness and Mammut's ultra-thin, triple rated rope, the '8.7 Serenity Dry'.
Petzl's Sitta harness offers a fantastic blend of comfort and lightweight construction. Dyneema threads have been used to reinforce the body of the harness, providing excellent support while saving on weight, Additionally, Petzl have toughened the construction of their tie-in points, ensuring that they remain robust even with heavy use. Perhaps the most interesting feature of this harness however is the divider that Petzl have added to the gear loops, allowing you to further separate and order your gear when racking up.
Mammut's 8.7 Serenity is both the lightest and thinnest rope in their range. While the rope definitely can't be used as a workhorse on your latest sport, project, for those looking to go light and fast in the mountains, there are few better options. Triple rated for use as a single, double or twin rope, with a 38% sheath construction and meeting the new UIAA dry standard, the 8.7 Serenity dry is impressively durable in spite of its thin, light construction.
